French police are on the hunt for a driver who allegedly rammed a dark BMW into a group of soldiers patrolling in a Paris suburb at about 8 a.m. Wednesday. The car hit and wounded six members of Opération Sentinelle, military personnel who are deployed as part of the nation’s ongoing state of emergency, brought about after the terror attacks in November 2015. Two seriously injured soldiers are being treated at a local hospital. None of the injuries are considered life-threatening. “It’s without doubt a deliberate act,” said Patrick Balkany, the mayor of Levallois-Perret. “This vehicle was waiting for them.” The Paris prosecutor’s office has opened a terrorism investigation into the attack.
