Police have arrested two people after a driver hit a policewoman outside French President Francois Hollande’s residence Wednesday night. The car was allegedly driving the wrong way down a one-way street when the officer approached and was knocked down, according to local media reports. Authorities on bikes arrested two suspects while the other two passengers fled on foot. The officer was taken to the hospital and treated for wrist, back, and knee injuries. Police have not made any connections to last week’s Paris attacks that left 17 dead, but the incident comes at a time when France is on high security alert.
