Aspiring artists, dancers, comedy troupes, and performers converge on Hollywood for 10 days, starting June 16, at the first-ever Hollywood Fringe Festival. The extravaganza, meant to promote experimental art, had open participation for any performers willing to secure a venue and front the $150-$200 fee. During the festival, there will be 30 locations showing up to five shows a day. "It's a little bit of an experiment; we'll see what happens,” said festival participant David Wiseheart.
