The operators of Japan's dangerously radioactive Fukushima Daiichi power plant are recruiting unskilled, destitute workers to clean up the hazardous site. Workers say Tepco's workforce in Fukushima is assembled by labor brokers who have little expertise and some connections to organized crime. One team of workers received a 20-minute briefing before entering the plant and no warning that a hose they were removing was filled with radioactive water, which they later tried to stop from leaking with only gloved hands.
