Even though Lady Gaga was not present at Europe’s MTV Music Awards, she was the star of the show. Racking up wins for best pop artist, best female singer and best song for her single, “Bad Romance,” Gaga accepted her awards in a video message to her adoring fans from across the pond. The host of the evening was actress Eva Longoria-Parker, who paid homage to Gaga’s fashion oddities by dressing up as a large ham. Other winners for the evening included Katy Perry for her music video, “California Gurls." Perry was accompanied to the awards ceremony in Spain by her new husband, Russell Brand. Tween heartthrob Justin Bieber took home the best male singer award as well as best "push" act and Jon Bon Jovi won the honorable global icon prize for his 30 years of musical contributions.
