Galas Getting Less Glam

It was only a matter of time. The ailing economy has affected numerous fashion parties and galas. In London these days, there is only one event a week, as opposed to one every other night as was the case last year. At one party, there was a strict limit of one drink for regular guests, and VIPs were ushered into a back room where they were limited to one libation an hour. Of course, as anyone knows who's been to one of these events, you have to get your drink on. One guest at a party came up with a clever solution, he "had a mickey of vodka in his breast pocket with a straw ingeniously threaded through his lapel."
