WINTER IS COMING

‘Game of Thrones’: Watch an Audition Reel of Your Favorite Characters, From Margaery to Red Viper

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, HBO released a reel of auditions of actors vying for some of your favorite characters. Check them all out here.

While filming on the hotly anticipated sixth season of Game of Thrones is already underway—one that will, according to Carice van Houten (AKA Melisandre), be almost entirely off-book—and the fate of Jon Snow is still up in the air, the kind folks at HBO have given the Westerosi faithful something to nibble on as they eagerly await new episodes.

During Friday’s Thrones panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the cable network unveiled an eye-opening audition reel featuring some of your favorite actors on the show vying for some of your now-favorite characters. You can see Gwendoline Christie ominously threaten, “And all my life, I’ve been knocking men like you into the dust” during her audition for Brienne of Tarth; Pedro Pascal try out his signature accent for Oberyn “Red Viper” Martell; Natalie Dormer deliver a seductive take on the Machiavellian schemer Margaery Tyrell; and so on and so forth.
