Comedian Garry Shandling died Thursday at age 66, TMZ reports. According to the gossip site's sources, the comedic actor had no known prior illnesses but 911 was called to his home on Thursday morning. Shandling was nominated for 19 Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards during his prolific career and his perhaps best known for his lead role in HBO series The Larry Sanders Show. He got his start in showbiz writing for '70s classic sitcoms like Sanford and Son and Welcome Back, Kotter.
