America has a new acting attorney general, and that new attorney general has a new chief of staff. A Justice Department spokesperson confirmed to The Daily Beast that Gary Barnett, who was previously a staffer for Sen. Jeff Flake, has been named chief of staff for Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker. Whitaker was chief of staff to then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions until yesterday, when President Trump pushed Sessions out. Whitaker then took Sessions’ job, leaving a vacancy that Barnett has now filled.
