INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

Gay Dating Apps Deny Mateen Used Service

"I think it was a hoax."

As the investigation into Orlando shooter Omar Mateen's motives continue, a gay hookup site called Adam4Adam alleges that it went through profile photos of all 300,000 of its Florida users and researched 20 email addresses used by Mateen over the years. The site said it found no evidence he was on there and a spokesman said "I think it was a hoax." Similarly, Jeff Dorta, a spokesman for another gay dating app called Jack’d, said that screenshots of Mateen's alleged profile did not seem to indicate that the shooter made it. “While we are not at liberty to comment on any specifics, I can tell you that as of now, utilizing the information Jack’d has been provided, we have not been able to substantiate that Omar Mateen was a Jack’d user,” Dorta said.
