Gay-Sex Hoax Pol: I Exposed Blackmail

Michigan State Rep. Todd Courser alleged Monday that he released a fake story about getting caught with a male prostitute to “expose” people trying to blackmail him out of office. Courser last week was exposed as carrying on an extramarital affair with fellow State Rep. and Republican Cindy Gamrat. Courser says his aides threatened to expose the relationship, which is what led him to send around the erroneous story. “It was a fast decision on my part to do the emails,” Courser said. “It was not my finest moment. It was the only option that I felt would be unpredicted by the blackmailer.” Courser said he will not step down from office.
