Morgan, and Goldman Sachs appear to have a direct line to his office—during those seven months, he spoke to these men at least 80 times. Sometimes, he spoke to the CEOs several times a day. When faced with the imminent bankruptcy of G.M. in May, Geithner wrapped up his day with calls to Goldman CEO Lloyd Blankfein, J.P. Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon, President Obama, and then another call to Dimon.
