This sounds more like a reality television show than the trial of a former prime minister. The witness list for former Italian leader Silvio Berlusconi's trial was released Wednesday, and among the 214 names are actor George Clooney, Real Madrid star Christiano Ronaldo, three of Berlusconi's former ministers, a former belly dancer, and 32 assorted starlets, dancers, and showgirls. The prosecution included Karima El Mahrough—better known by her stage name, Ruby Heartstealer—the Moroccan-runaway belly dancer whom Berlusconi is accused of having sex with, while she was underage, at one his infamous “bunga bunga” parties. Berlusconi is charged with paying an underage prostitute, as well as using his position to cover up the alleged crime.
