Dash-cam video shows a Georgia police officer telling a woman at a traffic stop that police “only shoot black people,” WSB-TV reported. The Cobb County officer was later identified as Lt. Greg Abbott. The exchange was recorded during a DUI traffic stop in July 2016, and a female passenger can be heard telling Abbott that she did not want to move her hands because, “I’ve just seen way too many videos of cops.” “But you’re not black,” Abbott can be heard replying. “Remember, we only shoot black people. Yeah, we only kill black people, right? All of the videos you’ve seen, have you seen the black people get killed? You have.” Cobb County Police Chief Mike Register said Abbott has been a good officer and hasn't received any racial-bias complaints. “We’re not making excuses,” he said. “We’re meeting this head-on and we’re going to deal with it.” The department has reportedly opened an internal investigation into the incident.
