Georgia Mortician Arrested for Dumping Bodies in Scrap Yard

A Georgia mortician was arrested on Thursday for allegedly dumping human remains in a scrap yard, local news station WSAV reports. Percy Hodges, a mortician at Hodges Funeral Home, was arrested and charged with “throwing away or abandonment of dead bodies” after remains were discovered in a scrap yard on Dec. 28. The remains of three individuals who were found are thought to have been dead for over 25 years, and have been identified as Theresa McClarin, Leroy Dixon, and Mamie Fredricks. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Candler County Sheriff’s Office also searched the funeral home as part of their investigation.
