The German parliament has approved a plan to offer military support for coalition airstrikes against the self-proclaimed Islamic State. It voted to send reconnaissance jets, 1,200 soldiers, and a naval frigate to aid in coalition efforts. The program will cost $146 million, and initially last for one year.
