In the wake of the United Kingdom’s debate over whether to ban Donald Trump from entering the country, some German legislators are now calling for their country to follow suit. A German lawmaker argues that the Republican presidential frontrunner’s proposal that Muslims be denied from entering the U.S. is racist and that his tweets following the New Year’s Eve attacks in Cologne only worsen his standing. Trump’s “rants of hate against minorities and refugees could constitute the criminal offense of incitement and hatred,” said Dieter Janecek, a member of Germany’s Green Party.
