Germany’s top public prosecutor, Harald Range, announced late Thursday that there is no concrete evidence that Chancellor Angela Merkel’s cellphone was tapped by American spies. The investigation was spurred by a charge from Edward Snowden, who claimed that the U.S. was carrying out electronic spying in Germany.
