Hackers with suspected ties to the Russian government targeted German political institutions in a new cyber-attack campaign, according to the German intelligence agency. The latest attack was detected on Nov. 14 and was aimed at German federal lawmakers, military facilities, and embassies, according to Spiegel Online, a German news source. German intelligence “has been able to detect new attacks as part of its investigation into the cyber-attack campaign ‘Snake,’” an agency spokeswoman said. “The victims are mainly in the realm of the state and politics.” “Snake” has suspected ties to Russia’s intelligence service. This infiltration comes on the heels of another attack earlier this year.
