Music’s top women are gearing up to rule the red carpet—and scoop up all of the awards—during the recording industry’s biggest night. Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift are all up for the top three awards—Album, Song, and Record of the Year—at tonight’s Grammy Awards, and Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas is up for two, leading Jim Farber to speculate that "estrogen fuels much of what's left in the music industry." Beyond their soaring voices, their success is also chalked up to their strong personalities and ability to transform their looks, making them more alluring and, yes, marketable, than male counterparts. Bands like U2 and Green Day may be classics, but these days, fans seem to prefer the "tricked-out glamour and sizzle" provided by tonight's leading ladies.
