Police in New York are searching for whoever is responsible for hanging a giant banner of Russian President Vladimir Putin over the Manhattan Bridge on Thursday afternoon. The 20-by-30-foot banner featured a Russian flag and Putin in a suit with the caption, “Peacemaker.” “There are no details on why or who, it has to be investigated,” a spokesman for the New York City Police Department told Reuters. Police said they were notified of the stunt at about 2:45 p.m. and removed the banner about a half hour later. They are currently going over surveillance videos to try and pinpoint a suspect.
