And now, for the most important news of your Friday evening, we bring you a giant rubber duck floating toward Pittsburgh. The 40-foot-tall yellow bird, a creation of Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, has been making its way serenely up the Ohio River, accompanied by a bevy of small boats. The globetrotting duck has made appearances in other cities including Sydney, Taiwan, and London and is expected to arrive under Pittsburgh's Sixth Street Bridge at around 5:30 p.m. The bridge will then be shut down so that everyone can marvel at the duck. According to Hofman's website, the duck has "healing properties: it can relieve mondial tensions as well as define them." Hofman also writes that the duck "knows no frontiers, it doesn't discriminate people and doesn't have a political connotation." Click here for a livestream of the duck's travels.
