Astronaut Mark Kelly says his wife, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, has been cleared to attend the shuttle launch of the Endeavor at Cape Canaveral Friday—her first trip since moving to Houston for rehabilitation. The Arizona Republic, meanwhile, published Sunday the most comprehensive look yet at Giffords’ current condition: She speaks mostly in short, one or two-word declarations, like “love you,” “awesome,” or even “get out” at the end of a long day; has learned to write with her left hand; and can stand on her own and walk a little.
