Giffords to Visit Tucson

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is back in Tucson, where she will spend Father's Day weekend with her family. Doctors say returning home "could play an important role in her recovery," according to her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly. She has not been to Tucson since January, when she was shot in the head during another weekend visit home, from Capitol Hill. But her family is optimistic that this weekend's visit will boost her spirits. Giffords has been recovering in Houston for the past five months and will return next week to begin outpatient rehab at TIRR Memorial Hermann Hospital. "Now that she is an outpatient, her first priority is coming home to the place that is such a source of strength for her," Kelly said.
