Following reports that Gabrielle Giffords is doing “remarkably well,” walking, talking, and generally improving every day, the Arizona congresswoman now wishes to attend the April 29 launch of the space shuttle Endeavour, commanded by her astronaut husband, Mark E. Kelly. Giffords, who miraculously survived a point blank gunshot wound to the head courtesy of Jared Loughner, is still recovering at TIRR Memorial Hermann Rehabilitation Hospital in Houston. Although Giffords wishes to attend the shuttle launch, she’ll still need the approval of her doctors before she travels to the launch site—the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
