Casting news continues for David Fincher’s highly anticipated film adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, as Deadline Hollywood broke the news that Robin Wright is in talks to join the movie. Wright, who recently finalized her divorce from Sean Penn, would play Erika Berger, the longtime lover of the movie’s protagonist Mikael Blomkvist, a part that went to Daniel Craig. The role of Berger grows in the franchise’s subsequent books and Wright’s deal would reportedly include an option for the sequels. Wright is represented by Creative Artists Agency, which declined to comment on the casting, as did Sony Pictures. The studio and filmmakers are still looking to cast the titular Girl, which The Daily Beast revealed is down to four young actresses.
