The Department of Revenue raided all three locations of Gladys Knight's Chicken and Waffles restaurants in Atlanta on Tuesday, as part of an investigation into her son Shanga Hankerson who is accused of stealing over $650,000 in sales and withholding tax. Clayton County District Attorney Tracy Graham Lawson says her office has filed a civil anti-racketeering suit in order to recoup the taxes that are owed. Knight herself has not been accused of any wrongdoing in the investigation.
