Golden Globe Exec Trashes Gervais

Doesn’t someone screen all the jokes beforehand, anyhow? Ricky Gervais denies reports that he was yanked as host midway through the Golden Globes on Sunday night, only to return an hour later in chastened form. “I did every single introduction I was meant to. There just happened to be a long gap," Gervais tells the New York Daily News by email. "This is because I was allowed to choose who I would introduce in advance. I obviously chose presenters who I had the best jokes for. (And who I knew had a good sense of humor). Everyone took it well and the atmosphere backstage and at the after show was great." But not everyone's happy. A Golden Globes exec has called some of his routines "totally unacceptable," according to The Hollywood Reporter, but didn't comment on whether he'd be allowed to return.
