Actor Frank Adonis, best known for his roles in some of director Martin Scorsese’s most famous films, has died at the age of 83. The Goodfellas actor died Wednesday night in Las Vegas from kidney-related issues, according to his wife, Denise Adonis. He was on a ventilator for the past nine days, but the family waited until after Christmas to take him off of life support, TMZ reports. Adonis played Anthony Stabile in the 1990 classic mafia film Goodfellas, and had a long career in Hollywood with 40 credits to his name, including other Scorsese classics like Raging Bull and Casino. “He will be missed,” his wife told TMZ. “He was a great father and an amazing husband. He helped all his friends he could. Great writer, director and actor. He was my best friend.”
