The FTC’s plan to subpoena Google for possible antitrust action isn’t the Web-search giant’s only headache: Multiple state attorneys general are also starting antitrust investigations into the company. Attorneys general in California, New York, and Ohio are following on the heels of the Texas attorney general, which opened a probe last year. People are comparing the possible lawsuits to the antitrust action taken against Microsoft a decade ago, which also began in Texas before spreading to other states. The Financial Times says the new state probes are in the early stages.
