Dems remain confident despite McConnell's threats.

Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell said Sunday that President Obama’s stimulus bill—which passed its House vote last week and has since soared to nearly $900 billion—will fail in the Senate unless it receives an all-out overhaul emphasizing tax cuts and private sector solutions. Time reports Senate minority whip John Kyle is pushing for a “start from scratch.” Democratic leader Chuck Schumer saysthat four Republicans have already pledged their support, which would mean a "filibuster-proof" majority. "This will pass with Republican votes" Schumer said on Face the Nation, "because it's a good package, and because we will make some changes around the edges."
