On Thursday, House Republicans issued a request to the White House to release emails they believe will reveal how the government responded in the days after a deadly siege in Benghazi, Libya. “The truth shouldn’t be hidden from the American people behind a White House firewall,” wrote Speaker of the House John Boehner in a statement. On Wednesday, House Republicans held a hearing with three American officials testifying that the military and State Department could have taken more preventive measures and failed to effectively respond.
