GOP Rep.: Democrat Is ‘Ugly as Hell’

A New Hampshire Republican state rep said Democratic U.S. Rep. Ann McLane Kuster will lose her election because she is “ugly as hell.” In a lengthy blog post, state Rep. Steve Vaillancourt said Kuster’s looks will likely cost the congresswoman her seat to her Republican challenger Marilinda Garcia. “Does anyone not believe that Congressman Annie Kuster is as ugly as sin? And I hope I haven’t offended sin,” he wrote. “If looks really matter and if this race is at all close, give a decided edge to Marilinda Garcia.” He also compared Kuster to a “drag queen.” Vaillancourt is serving his sixth term in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. In 2012, he had to publicly apologize for saying “Sieg Heil,” the Nazi salute, multiple times at the podium.
