GOP Rep. Met With Russian Lawyer Who Courted Don Jr.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) met with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya in Moscow last year, just two months before the lawyer met with Donald Trump Jr. and other top Trump campaign aides. Veselnitskaya, a Kremlin-connected lawyer, claims she met with Rohrabacher in order to discuss U.S. sanctions against Russia. Rohrabacher is known as one of the most pro-Russia members of Congress. His spokesman confirmed that the meeting occurred but said the congressman “was not focused on her identity.” Rohrabacher met earlier this year with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in London, and said he would provide evidence to President Trump that disproves Russia’s involvement in the 2016 U.S. elections.
