Rep. Mark Sanford (R-S.C.) was one of the few Republican lawmakers on Wednesday to address President Donald Trump’s alleged affair with porn star Stormy Daniels, calling the situation “deeply troubling.” Sanford, who admitted to having an extramarital affair in 2009, suggested that there would be “hearings” into the matter if it happened under a Democratic president. “What you can’t do is be completely silent on something that is troubling,” Sanford said. Daniels sued Trump this week, alleging that he did not sign a non-disclosure agreement associated with a $130,000 hush-money payment that was orchestrated by Michael Cohen, Trump’s longtime personal attorney.
