Republican Congressman Steve King, of Iowa, introduced the first federal "heartbeat bill" on Friday, which would attempt to end legal abortion as early as six weeks into a pregnancy. In the press release for the bill, King calls Roe v. Wade unconstitutional and says “if a heartbeat is detected, the baby is protected.”
