Wyoming Rep. Cynthia Lummis became the second Republican to say the United States should not allow anyone to enter the country who has been in the West African nations battling a widening Ebola outbreak. The congresswoman said people who have been in Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone should be denied entry “until things settle down.” Her remarks are similar to comments fom Texas GOP Rep. Pete Sessions, who told CNN the U.S. should have a plane for U.S. citizens rather than “13,000 people with visas to want to come visit.” Public-health experts, including CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden, have warned that a travel ban would be eneffective and dangerous.
