Idaho GOP state Rep. Bryan Zollinger suggested that former President Barack Obama and the Democrats staged the Charlottesville violence to smear President Trump, saying it was “completely plausible.” Zollinger shared a blog post that floated the conspiracy theory and hasn’t held back amid intense criticism. “At first, I felt genuinely bad that maybe I had offended somebody,” Zollinger said. “Since then, the amazing amount of hate and the despicable things that have been said about myself, my wife, my kids, I’ve doubled down.” Heather Heyer was killed when a white supremacist plowed his car into a crowd of counter-protesters.
