Chappell Roan was interviewed on the Grammys red carpet, but viewers aren’t happy about how it went down. Social media is in uproar after two reporters for the Associated Press, Leslie Ambriz and Krysta Fauria, cut off music legend Babyface to squeeze in Roan. Babyface, a 13-time Grammy winner, was just starting to answer a question on the rising trend of fusing R&B with other genres when the “Good Luck, Babe” singer came up behind him on the red carpet. Fauria proceeded to call out to Roan as Babyface was speaking. “You guys wanna do that?” Babyface said, turning toward Roan. “Go do that.” He handed the mic over to the interviewers as the reporters apologized. Social media users were quick to slam the reporters. “13x Grammy Award-winning Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds? Am I seeing this correctly?” singer Dionne Warwick wrote on X. Even Khloe Kardashian chimed in, saying, “Big or small, old or new - you don’t treat people like this. At least not in my eyes. There’s a way to handle this and this was wrong in my opinion.” Fauria apologized on air moments later, explaining that there was commotion when Roan came up. “I’m really sorry about interrupting Babyface earlier,” she said. “I’m a big Babyface fan, so I just wanted to say that I really apologize.”
