A grand jury in Florida has formally charged Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz with 17 counts of premeditated murder in the first-degree in the February mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He was also indicted on an additional 17 counts of attempted murder in the first-degree. The 19-year-old allegedly confessed to police soon after his arrest. Seventeen teachers and students were killed in the deadly rampage, and many of the surviving students have since spawned a movement to enact gun-control reform.
