‘Grandma’ the Clown of Big Apple Circus Quits Over Sexual Misconduct
Barry Lubin, the man who plays the iconic “Grandma” the clown in the Big Apple Circus, resigned Tuesday after he admitted to sexual misconduct. Zoey Dunne accused Lubin, 65, of coaxing her into posing for pornographic photos in 2004, when she was 16 years old. In a statement, Lubin said the allegation is true, adding: “What I did was wrong, and I take full responsibility for my actions.” Dunne informed the circus of the incident in 2012, but at the time Lubin was not working there. When he was re-hired last year, Dunne informed circus officials once more.
