The private equity firm Great Hill Partners has agreed to buy Gizmodo Media Group from the Spanish-language broadcaster Univision, The Wall Street Journal reports Monday. It’s not yet clear how much Great Hill paid for the media group, which includes the sports website Deadspin, feminist website Jezebel, and the satirical website The Onion, among others—although experts estimated the firm paid far less than the $135 million Univision paid in 2016. James Spanfeller, who previously worked as the chief executive of Forbes.com, will become the chief executive of what will now be known as G/O Media Inc., a reference to Gizmodo and The Onion.
