Gretl Slams ‘Sound of Music’

NBC may have had its biggest Thursday in four years, raking in 18.5 million viewers for its live performance of The Sound of Music, but not everyone was impressed. Kym Karath, who played Gretl Von Trapp in the original production of the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, was “mystified and disappointed” by the remake. Karath watched the show with fellow former Von Trapp sisters Charmian Carr (Liesl) and Angela Cartwright (Brigitta). “Must admit some scenes are actually painful to watch,” Karath tweeted during the special. “Love Carrie Underwood but this role is just not right for her. She is lovely her voice is beautiful but acting is wrong.”
