The Los Angeles-area serial killer known as the “Grim Sleeper” was sentenced to death Wednesday for the murders of nine women and a teenage girl over a 30-year span. Lonne David Franklin Jr., 63, known as the “Grim Sleeper” because he seemed to take a decade-long break between bursts of murders, reportedly showed no emotion as his death sentence was delivered; and he declined to address the court. Franklin’s crimes showed a pattern of targeting prostitutes and drug addicts, with his final known slaying occurring in January 2007.
