Guggenheim Heirs Sue to Stop Venice Show

The latest in 20-year legal battle.

The heirs of Peggy Guggenheim are launching their latest battle against the Guggenheim Foundation. Sandro Rumney, one of her grandsons, has been petitioning against the Foundation in French courts since 1994. On Tuesday, he will file an appeal with his half-brother that alleges that the Foundation is mishandling her art collection in Venice because it is including outside collections in the display. The Foundation has acted as manager of Peggy Guggenheim's estate since she died in 1979.
