Gun Advocate Shot by 4-Year-Old Son

Florida mom Jamie Gilt, 31, was reportedly accidentally shot Tuesday evening by her 4-year-old son, who was seated in the back seat of her truck while she drove. According to local officials, deputies found Gilt with a single bullet wound in her back after she was acting frantically in the vehicle stopped in travel lanes on a highway. The bullet came from a .45 handgun that was reportedly on the floor of the vehicle. Authorities from the northern Florida county said Wednesday that they have not spoken with Gilt, who is currently hospitalized while her son stays with relatives. As news spread of Gilt's injury, news outlets revealed that she is an outspoken gun advocate who runs a Facebook page titled "Jamie Gilt for Gun Sense."
