Omar Mateen’s father has given a series of tone-deaf interviews since the Sunday morning shooting. In one today, Seddique Mateen suggested that Pulse—the Orlando gay nightclub where his son killed 49 innocent people—should have had better security in place. “The lives of 400 people depend on that business,” he said. “Maybe they had some kind of sloppy security.” He added, “If they had good security, tight security, they would have eliminated my son... we wouldn’t have this nightmare and these losses.”
