The Daily Beast has discovered that the armed Russian nationalists, many of whom were masked and in unmarked military uniforms, who seized control of the Simferopol airport in Crimea, Ukraine, on Thursday are likely security contractors working for the Russian military. Sources in the region say that those contractors may be paving the way for ousted Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich. In addition, reports surfaced that Russian naval forces seized the military airport in Sevastopol, where the Kremlin leases a base for its Black Sea naval fleet. (Moscow denies a connection.)
