Gymnastics Doctor Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Charges

A former gymnastics doctor pleaded guilty on Tuesday to charges of child pornography. Under the plea deal, Dr. Larry Nassar, who served as the longtime team doctor for USA Gymnastics, would serve between 22 and 27 years behind bars, and would not face federal charges for allegedly molesting two ex-gymnasts. “My clients feel betrayed,” said John Manly, a lawyer who represents many of the accusers, citing the fact that abuse charges were not brought against Nassar, 54, before he accepted the plea deal. The Indianapolis Star published an extensive investigation last year that detailed the abuse allegations.
