On Friday, several Sony Pictures Entertainment employees received an email from a group claiming to be the hackers responsible for a massive data breach, the “Guardians of Peace.” The breach and subsequent leak of information “is a very tiny work for our group which is a worldwide organization,” the email said, and continued to threaten that if employees refuse to “sign [their] name to object the false of the company” then “your family will be in danger.” North Korea is suspected to have a role in the attack, at least in part because of an upcoming Sony released called The Interview, a comedy about an attempted assassination of North Korean president Kim Jong Un. A Sony spokesperson, reached for comment, told Buzzfeed, “We are understand that some of our employees have received an email claiming to be from GOP. We are aware of the situation and are working with law enforcement.”
